Thu 3rd of June 2010 – Faisal Sylhet

It's funny how much I remember from being in Bangladesh is heat, exhaustion, toilets, people staring at me, millions of conversations in broken english and avoiding local food. But then when looking  at the pictures all the meetings and people and little adventures seem and feel wonderful.

In the picture is Faisal. He was in my train compartment when I travelled from Dhaka to Sylhet. It took 7 hours and I gradually felt sicker and sicker. We were a total of 5 guys sharing the 1st class compartment and by the end they were all four sitting on one side so I could lie down on the other. When we arrived at night Faisal was a bit worried that I wanted to go to a random hotel I found in a travel guide and he made his taxi take me to a five star hotel. By that time I welcomed it with open arms. I spend the next 24 hours running between bed and toilet and that's much nicer in a good hotel.

Faisal called me the next day to check if all was good and by then it was.
