Mon 8th of August 2011 – Mare Street Riots

Shot this last night when I went for a walk where it had been pretty bad earlier. A broken buswindow with traffic and police lights in the background/reflection.

Very strange atmosphere. All shops were closed, loads of riotpolice and also many people taking pictures. Weirdly, near my house I saw 4 guys trying to break open a pawn shop - a police van was standing near and then just left without doing anything.

I'm in my office now on Brick Lane and rumours are that that's where it will kick off next, but then again, there are a lot of rumours. People are nervous though. We just bought some beer in case there will have to be a lock-in :)
