Wed 12th of May 2010 – Sylhet Train

Well, how to put 5 days in Bangladesh in a few lines of text. In those last five days I travelled north by train to Sylhet, which is seven hours by train. I haven’t seen a single white face. I’ve spent a whole day running between my bed and the toilet, a few times not making it. Had my flipflops fixed while about 30 people looked on. Answered pupils questions in a secondary school in a small village called ‘Lama Ishob Pur’. Photographed a schoolteacher with his allegedly 116 year old mother so I can give the photo to his soon who lives near me in London. I’ve met an enormous amount of very friendly and hospitable people. Been given pineapples. And much more. Tomorrow is my friends wedding day.
