Mon 19th of December 2011 – Kim Jong il

Kim Jong-il passed away a few days ago and his 27 year old son is next in line. How strange it must be to inherit a country so out of tune with the rest of the world at the age of 27. I hope he does better then his father, but apparently the power struggles had been going on behind Kim's back for a while already, so Amnesty International reported.

This image was not taken in the North-Korean parliament but in a hotel in Central London. Staff was being drilled for a big event and it seemed a kind of mix between schoolchildren being told off or a platoon of soldiers in training. Reminded me of what North Korea could be like, in my head.

ps. I know there is a dash between Jong and il, but my website doesn't take well to dashed in the title - I did investigate properly that the 'il' bit doesn't have a capital letter
