Wed 29th of February 2012 – Dutch Snowscape

When you fly from England to the Netherlands there is this typical change in the landscape. In both countries there are loads of farmlands. The difference is that in England the shapes vary a lot - in Dutch we would say 'grillig' - I can't find the English word right now. The moment you cross the Channel you see that in the Netherlands every bit of farmland is a perfect rectangle. The picture above is what I saw a few weeks ago when I flew to Amsterdam for an icy weekend.
